1. Voluntary Participation
I am voluntarily choosing to participate in J90 Saturday, a free outdoor community fitness class held at Vander Veer Park in Davenport, Iowa. No one is requiring me to participate.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that physical exercise involves inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strains, sprains, falls, heat or cold related illness, aggravation of pre-existing conditions, serious injury, and in rare cases cardiac events or death. Classes take place outdoors on uneven ground and in variable weather. I knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks.
3. Physical Condition and Medical Clearance
I am responsible for determining whether I am physically capable of participating. I have been advised to consult a physician before beginning any exercise program. I agree to stop exercising and seek appropriate assistance if I experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or any other concerning symptom.
4. Modifications and Self-Pacing
Exercises may be modified for different fitness levels. I understand I may rest, modify, or skip any exercise at any time, and that I am the final judge of what is appropriate for my body.
5. Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release J90, its owners, coaches, instructors, volunteers, and affiliates from claims arising out of my participation in J90 Saturday, except for claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct.
6. Emergency Care
In the event of an emergency, I consent to reasonable first aid and to emergency medical services being contacted on my behalf.
7. Photography
Photos or video may occasionally be taken at class for community and promotional purposes. I may ask not to be included at any time by telling a coach.
8. Agreement
By checking the waiver box during registration, I confirm that I have read this document, understand it, and agree to it on behalf of myself.
